this was a who lat of fun to paint silvestri is such a legend in the comic book world. I have to thank :iconjoeweems5: for posting the line work to this. and i tried to do my best :iconnebezial: witchblade impression i don'y know how well i pulled it off.

as a side note can some one tell me why there was never a spawn darkness cross over since he crossed over witht he witchblade so obviously there in the same univers.

It just comes alive, gets it's 3th dimension through your colors.

you need to rasterize the bevell layer and then apply shading over it, either on same layer, or on next via hardlight, otherwise it wont fit. also because of the backlight you should reduce the light intensity on the bevell settings.

its a useful technique but requires practice, trust me , even i easily fuck it up and i have been using the damn thing for 8+ years
as to why no spawn darkness...hm.. never occurred to mt to ask...

Cool work dude! There's a lot of mood in this piece, I can almost feel the horse breathing! I like the painterly touch on the cape and the horse neck. Overall the color scheme is great.
I would say though that you've been a bit harsh on the FX, like the glowing reflections (on the pieces of armor and the sword) and the ambient atmosphere. That tends to make the final piece looking a bit blurry, and kill the consistency of the light scheme by giving more energy to the secondaries light sources than the primary.
